In 1895, the Philadelphia Mint struck this impressive twenty-dollar gold piece, a denomination that circulated during a dynamic era of American growth. Containing 0.9675 troy ounces of gold with a purity of 0.900, this substantial coin represents a design tradition that spanned more than half a century, from 1850 to 1907. The obverse features the profile of Lady Liberty, her hair secured in a coronet, encircled by thirteen stars representing the original colonies.
