1895 Indian Head Cent AU
The 1895 Indian Head Cent represents a classic era of United States copper coinage. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this coin is composed of a traditional alloy containing 95 percent copper, with the remaining 5 percent consisting of tin and zinc. It survives today in an Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the fine details of its nineteenth-century craftsmanship. The obverse features a depiction of Liberty adorned in a feathered Native American headdress, a creative choice by designer James B. Longacre. On the reverse, the denomination of ONE CENT is positioned prominently in the center. This text is encircled by a detailed wreath, which is crowned by a small shield at the top and anchored by a bundle of arrows secured with a bow at the bottom.
