Minted at the San Francisco branch of the United States Mint, the coin contains 0.9675 troy ounces of gold, with a purity level of 0.900. This specific series had a long production run, spanning the years 1850 to 1907. The obverse side of the coin showcases a profile of Liberty, who wears a crown adorned with pearls and inscribed with her name. On the reverse, an eagle stretches its wings wide with a protective shield over its chest. Above the bird, thirteen stars are arranged in an oval pattern beneath a canopy of rays. The reverse also bears the official inscriptions naming the country of origin and the denomination as twenty dollars.
