The 1895-S Morgan Dollar represents a remarkably scarce issue from the San Francisco Mint, with a production run of only 400,000 pieces. This particular coin has survived in Almost Good condition, showing the heavy wear of a piece that actively circulated. The Morgan Dollar series as a whole served as a staple of American commerce, remaining in active circulation for roughly 80 years. Crafted from 0.7734 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 0.900, the coin's obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap, with a hair band that displays the word 'LIBERTY'. This central image is encircled by thirteen stars, the 1895 date, and the Latin motto 'E PLURIBUS UNUM'. The reverse side showcases a bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching arrows and an olive branch in its talons. The national motto 'In God We Trust' is positioned above the eagle, while the inscriptions 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA' and the 'ONE DOLLAR' denomination frame the design. Just below the wreath on the reverse, the 'S' mint mark identifies its origin from the San Francisco facility.
