The 1897 San Francisco Mint silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. This particular specimen has been certified in Mint State 62 (MS-62) condition, preserving the intricate details of its iconic late nineteenth-century design. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal and belongs to a celebrated series that circulated actively in commerce for about eight decades. On the obverse, the profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, which features a band inscribed with her name. Surrounding this central figure are thirteen stars, the year 1897, and the traditional Latin motto meaning "Out of many, one."
