The 1898 silver dollar stands as a classic representation of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Struck in 90 percent silver, this piece contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. Collectors and history enthusiasts appreciate this issue for its detailed craftsmanship and the distinct era of American minting it represents, preserved in an Almost Uncirculated state. On the obverse side, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is adorned with a Phrygian cap, which features the word LIBERTY clearly inscribed upon her hair band. Encircling this central figure is the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, accompanied by the 1898 year of manufacture and thirteen small stars that honor the nation's starting colonies. The reverse displays a bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping a symbolic olive branch in one of its talons and a cluster of arrows in the other. The inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination ONE DOLLAR frame the eagle, while the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST is positioned directly above the bird of prey.
