The 1898 Morgan silver dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this particular issue does not carry a mint mark, distinguishing it as a product of the nation's primary minting facility. Containing 0.7734 troy ounces of 90 percent pure silver, the coin survives today in a certified Mint State 63 condition, preserving the crisp details of its original manufacture. On the obverse, the profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of freedom. Her hair band is inscribed with the word Liberty, while the surrounding field is adorned with thirteen stars, the national motto E Pluribus Unum, and the 1898 year of issue. The reverse displays a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching both an olive branch and arrows to symbolize peace and readiness. Surrounding the central image are the inscriptions United States of America and One Dollar, alongside the motto In God We Trust.
