0.7734 troy oz .900 1898 Extra Fine

Struck in 1898, this silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. The piece is composed of 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver, with a total fineness of 0.900. Having survived more than a century, it remains in Extra Fine condition, preserving the fine details of its original engraving for modern observers to appreciate. The front of the coin displays a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty. She wears a traditional Phrygian cap, with the word Liberty inscribed upon her hair band. Encircling her likeness are thirteen stars, the year of minting, 1898, and the Latin motto E Pluribus Unum. On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted with outspread wings, clutching an olive branch and a cluster of arrows in its talons. This central image is surrounded by the inscriptions United States of America and One Dollar, while the national motto, In God We Trust, is positioned directly above the eagle.
