Struck in the late nineteenth century, this 1898 silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. Minted in New Orleans, the coin displays the distinctive 'O' mint mark positioned just above the denomination on the reverse side. It contains 0.7734 troy ounces of 90 percent pure silver, preserved in an exceptional certified grade of Mint State 65. The obverse features a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap, her hair band inscribed with the word 'Liberty'. This central figure is encircled by the Latin motto 'E Pluribus Unum', thirteen stars representing the original colonies, and the 1898 date. On the reverse, a bald eagle holds arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing both strength and peace. The eagle is framed by the inscriptions 'United States of America' and 'One Dollar', alongside the national motto, 'In God We Trust'.
