1898-O Morgan Dollar XF
Struck in the final years of the nineteenth century, this 1898 silver coin represents a classic era of American coinage. Minted at the historic New Orleans facility, this specimen carries the "O" mint mark on its reverse side, positioned just above the denomination. It is composed of 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, with a purity level of 0.900, and is preserved in Extra Fine condition. The obverse features a left-facing profile of Liberty, adorned with a Phrygian cap that displays the word "LIBERTY" upon her hair band. Surrounding this central figure is the traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the date of production, 1898. On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted with outstretched wings, grasping an olive branch and a cluster of arrows in its talons. The national motto "In God We Trust" is inscribed above the eagle, while the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DOLLAR" frame the outer edge of the design.
