1899 Morgan Dollar BU

0.7734 troy oz .900 1899 Brilliant Unc

The 1899 Morgan dollar stands out as a fascinating artifact of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Minted in Philadelphia, this particular issue had a relatively low production run of just 330,000 pieces. Struck in 90 percent silver, each coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal, preserved in brilliant uncirculated condition. The obverse presents a left-facing portrait of Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap, with her hair band displaying the word "Liberty" amidst her locks. Encircling her likeness are thirteen stars, the year 1899, and the traditional Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum." On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted holding an olive branch and a cluster of arrows in its talons. The eagle is surrounded by the inscriptions "United States of America" and the denomination "One Dollar," with the national motto "In God We Trust" positioned above the bird of prey.
