1899 Morgan Dollar XF

0.7734 troy oz .900 1899 Extra Fine

The 1899 Morgan silver dollar represents a remarkably low-mintage issue from the Philadelphia Mint, with only 330,000 of these pieces originally struck. Minted from 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver, this coin displays the classic artistry of late nineteenth-century American coinage, preserved in an Extra Fine state of preservation. On the obverse, a left-facing portrait of Liberty wears a Phrygian cap, which is clearly inscribed with the word "LIBERTY". Encircling this central figure are thirteen stars, the year of issue 1899, and the traditional Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum". The reverse side presents a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping an olive branch and a clutch of arrows in its talons. Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions "United States of America" and the denomination "One Dollar", while the motto "In God We Trust" is positioned directly above the eagle's head.
