The 1899-O Morgan Dollar represents a classic era of American silver coinage, minted at the historic New Orleans facility. Containing 0.7734 troy ounces of 90 percent pure silver, this piece has survived in Extra Fine condition, showing off the detailed artistry that defined United States currency during a period when these large silver cartwheels circulated for nearly 80 years. On the obverse side, the profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, which features a hair band displaying the word "Liberty". This central portrait is surrounded by the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum", thirteen stars representing the original colonies, and the 1899 year of issue. The reverse side displays a bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching both an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Above the eagle, the motto "In God We Trust" is inscribed, while the legends "United States of America" and "One Dollar" frame the design. Just below the wreath on the reverse, the "O" mint mark indicates its origin from the New Orleans Mint.
