1900 $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle MS-64 PCGS

0.9675 troy oz .900 1900 PCGS

In 1900, the Philadelphia Mint produced this magnificent twenty dollar gold coin, a substantial piece containing 0.9675 troy ounces of gold. The coin represents the long-running Liberty Head design series, which was struck by the United States from 1850 to 1907. This particular specimen has been certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64), preserving its historic details in exceptional quality. The obverse features a classic profile of Lady Liberty, her hair secured in a coronet, encircled by thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The year 1900 is clearly struck at the bottom. James B. Longacre designed this iconic imagery, creating a lasting symbol of American coinage. On the reverse, a powerful eagle spreads its wings, protecting a shield positioned on its chest. Above the eagle, thirteen stars form an oval pattern beneath a halo of rays. The inscriptions read "United States of America" and the denomination "Twenty Dollars," alongside the national motto "In God We Trust."
