The turn of the twentieth century brought with it a beautifully preserved piece of American coinage, the 1900 Indian Head Cent. Struck in Philadelphia, this particular specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, displaying the distinct brown tones characteristic of aged copper. Composed of 95 percent copper with the remaining 5 percent consisting of tin and zinc, this small cent represents the artistic standards of its era. Designed by James B. Longacre, the obverse features an unconventional depiction of Liberty wearing a traditional Native American feather headdress.
