The turn of the twentieth century brought with it this striking 1900 silver dollar, a prominent representative of the celebrated Morgan series. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this particular issue carries no mint mark, a traditional feature of coins produced at the nation's primary coining facility during this era. Having escaped the wear of active commerce, this specimen remains in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the sharp details of its original engraving. On the obverse, a profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, her hair band inscribed with the word "Liberty". This central figure is encircled by thirteen stars, the date 1900, and the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum". The coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, minted with a purity of 90 percent. The reverse displays a bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping both an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Surrounding the national bird are the inscriptions "United States of America", "One Dollar", and the motto "In God We Trust". As a type, these silver dollars circulated in American commerce for about 80 years, making this pristine survivor a fascinating window into the nation's monetary past.
