In the year 1900, the New Orleans Mint struck this silver dollar, a denomination that circulated as everyday currency in America for roughly eight decades. Crafted from 0.7734 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 0.900, this coin represents a classic era of United States coinage. This specific piece survives in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the fine details of its original engraving. The front of the coin presents the profile of Liberty, who wears a traditional Phrygian cap adorned with a band displaying her name. Framing her portrait are thirteen stars representing the original colonies, the date 1900, and the Latin motto meaning out of many, one. On the back, a bald eagle holds both arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing strength and peace. The reverse also bears the national motto, the country of origin, the face value of one dollar, and the New Orleans O mint mark.
