1900-S Morgan Dollar AU
The turn of the twentieth century brought a classic silver coin from the San Francisco Mint. Containing 0.7734 troy ounces of actual silver content, this 1900-S Morgan dollar represents a production run of 3,540,000 pieces. It survives today in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the intricate details of its late nineteenth-century design. On the obverse side, Liberty is depicted facing left. She wears a Phrygian cap, which features a hair band displaying her name. Surrounding this central portrait, the border is inscribed with the Latin motto meaning "Out of many, one" alongside thirteen stars and the 1900 year of issue. The reverse side displays a bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping an olive branch and arrows in its talons. The national motto expressing trust in God is positioned above the eagle, while the outer border displays the country of origin and the face value of one dollar. The "S" mint mark, indicating its origin in San Francisco, is located just above the denomination.
