1900-S Morgan Dollar Good

0.7734 troy oz .900 1900 Good

The turn of the twentieth century brought this classic silver coin from the San Francisco Mint. Struck in 90 percent pure silver, this piece contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. It represents a significant moment in American coining history, coming from a total mintage of 3,540,000 pieces produced at the western mint that year. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty, who wears a Phrygian cap adorned with a band displaying her name. Encircling this central image are thirteen stars, the year 1900, and the traditional Latin motto meaning "Out of many, one." On the reverse, a bald eagle holds both arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing strength and peace. The inscriptions surrounding the eagle include the country of origin, the face value of one dollar, and the national motto expressing trust in God. Positioned just above the denomination is the "S" mint mark, identifying its origin from the San Francisco facility.
