Struck at the Philadelphia mint, this 1901 twenty dollar gold coin represents a classic era of American coinage. The design, which was produced by the United States Mint between 1850 and 1907, contains 0.9675 troy ounces of gold in a 0.900 fine composition. This specific piece has been certified in an exceptional state of preservation, graded as Mint State 65 (MS-65). The obverse displays a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty, her hair secured while she wears a coronet decorated with pearls and inscribed with the word LIBERTY. Below her portrait, the mintage year of 1901 is clearly visible.
