0.0000 troy oz 1901 Almost Unc

The 1901 Indian Head Cent represents a classic era of United States coinage, minted in Philadelphia during the turn of the twentieth century. Struck from a durable alloy of 95 percent copper, with the remaining 5 percent consisting of tin and zinc, this coin has survived in an Almost Uncirculated state, preserving much of its original detail and texture. On the obverse, the design by James B. Longacre presents a profile of Liberty. Rather than a traditional depiction, she wears an Native American feathered headdress, surrounded by the bold inscription of the nation's name. The reverse side of the coin simplifies its message with the denomination "ONE CENT" placed prominently in the center. This text is encircled by a detailed wreath, creating a balanced and elegant composition that defined the copper pennies of this memorable period.
