0.7734 troy oz .900 1901 Very Fine

The 1901 silver dollar minted in San Francisco carries the legacy of a classic American coin series that circulated for about 80 years. Struck from 0.900 fine silver, this piece contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. Out of a total mintage of 2,284,000 for this specific year and mint location, this survivor is certified in Very Fine condition, though it shows signs of past cleaning. On the obverse, a left-facing profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, with the word Liberty clearly visible on her hair band. This side is framed by the Latin motto E Pluribus Unum, the 1901 year of issue, and thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The reverse displays a bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching an olive branch and a cluster of arrows in its talons. Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions United States of America and One Dollar, along with the motto In God We Trust. Just below the wreath on the reverse, the S mint mark identifies its origin at the San Francisco Mint.
