Struck at the Melbourne Mint in Australia, this gold sovereign represents a classic era of sovereign production under the British Crown. Each coin contains 0.2354 troy ounces of gold, minted in a purity of 0.9167. These specimens survive in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the sharp details of their original turn of the century manufacture. The obverse of the coin presents a right-facing portrait of King Edward VII. Surrounding the royal bust is a formal Latin inscription, partially reading EDWARDVS VII, signifying his reign.
