The 1902 Morgan Dollar stands as a classic representative of America's turn of the century coinage. Minted at the Philadelphia facility, this silver coin is distinguished by the absence of a mint mark, a traditional characteristic of issues from the nation's primary mint. Struck in 0.900 fine silver, the coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal and survives today in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving much of its original detail and luster. On the obverse, the design showcases a profile of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap. Her hair band is inscribed with the word "Liberty," and the entire portrait is encircled by the national motto "E Pluribus Unum," thirteen stars representing the original colonies, and the 1902 year of issue. The reverse displays a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping both arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Surrounding this central motif are the inscriptions "United States of America" and the denomination "One Dollar," accompanied by the motto "In God We Trust" positioned directly above the eagle.
