The 1903 Morgan silver dollar stands as a remarkable example of early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck with a silver purity of 0.900, each of these pieces contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. This specific specimen has achieved a high certified grade of Mint State 65 (MS-65), indicating a well-preserved strike with its original luster largely intact. On the obverse side, the profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap. A band nestled in her hair clearly displays the word Liberty. Encircling her portrait are thirteen stars, the year of manufacture (1903), and the Latin motto E Pluribus Unum. Because this issue was produced at the Philadelphia Mint, it does not bear a mint mark. The reverse side presents a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching both an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Surrounding the national bird are the inscriptions United States of America and One Dollar, along with the motto In God We Trust.
