0.9675 troy oz .900 1904 PCGS

In 1904, the Philadelphia Mint struck a significant run of 6,256,699 gold coins in the twenty dollar denomination. Today, surviving examples of these Liberty Gold Double Eagles offer a tangible look at the United States monetary system from the early twentieth century. This specific specimen has been certified by professional graders as Mint State 63 (MS-63), indicating a well-preserved piece that has retained much of its original luster and detail over more than a century. Struck from 0.900 fine gold, this substantial coin contains 0.9675 troy ounces of precious metal. The design features classic American numismatic imagery, including the traditional representation of Liberty on the obverse and a heraldic eagle on the reverse. The inscriptions integrated into the design include the year 1904, the national mottoes "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM", as well as the country name "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the face value "TWENTY DOLLARS". Because it was produced at the main Philadelphia Mint, the coin does not bear a mint mark.
