The 1904 Morgan Dollar represents a significant moment in American numismatic history. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this issue marked the final time the facility would produce these iconic silver coins for nearly two decades, with production not resuming there until 1921. Out of a mintage of 2,788,000, each coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver, contributing to a series that circulated as active currency for roughly 80 years. The obverse features a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap, her hair band inscribed with the word "Liberty." This central figure is encircled by the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum," the year 1904, and thirteen stars representing the original colonies. On the reverse, a bald eagle holds both arrows and an olive branch in its talons. The design is framed by the inscriptions "United States of America" and "One Dollar," with the national motto "In God We Trust" positioned above the eagle.
