1904 Morgan Dollar XF

0.7734 troy oz .900 1904 Extra Fine

The 1904 Morgan silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage, belonging to a famous series that circulated actively for about 80 years. Struck in 90 percent silver, this coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. Because it was minted in Philadelphia, the coin features no mint mark, leaving the space below the reverse wreath empty. On the obverse, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is shown wearing a Phrygian cap, which is adorned with a band displaying her name. Surrounding her profile are thirteen stars, the 1904 year of issue, and the traditional Latin motto meaning "Out of many, one." The reverse side presents a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread wide, clutching both a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Above the eagle, the motto "In God We Trust" is inscribed in Gothic script, while the legends naming the nation and the face value of one dollar frame the central design.
