1904-S $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle MS-63 PCGS

0.9675 troy oz .900 1904 PCGS

Struck at the San Francisco mint, this 1904 gold coin carries a face value of twenty dollars and contains 0.9675 troy ounces of gold. The piece has been certified in Mint State 63 (MS-63) condition, preserving the intricate details of its mid nineteenth century engraving. James B. Longacre designed this historic coin series, which the United States Mint produced from 1850 to 1907. The obverse presents a left facing portrait of Liberty, her hair secured by a pearl edged coronet that displays the word LIBERTY. Thirteen stars encircle her profile, representing the original colonies, with the date 1904 positioned at the base. On the reverse, a majestic eagle with outstretched wings holds a shield across its chest. Above the eagle, thirteen stars form an oval pattern beneath a halo of rays, flanked by decorative scrolls. The surrounding inscriptions clearly identify the issuing nation as the United States of America and state the denomination as Twenty Dollars.
