1906 $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle MS-63 PCGS

0.9675 troy oz .900 1906 PCGS

In 1906, the Philadelphia Mint produced a limited run of just 69,596 gold double eagles. This particular twenty-dollar piece has survived the decades in remarkable condition, earning a certified grade of Mint State 63 (MS-63). Struck from 0.900 fine gold, the coin contains 0.9675 troy ounces of precious metal, representing the pinnacle of United States circulating coinage from the pre-1933 era. As a product of the main Philadelphia facility, this specimen carries no mint mark. The design represents the final years of the classic Liberty Gold Double Eagle series, which was soon to be replaced. Its reverse features the bold, traditional inscriptions of the United States of America and the face value of twenty dollars.
