1907 $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle MS-64 NGC

0.9675 troy oz .900 1907 NGC

The year 1907 marked the end of an era for one of America's most enduring gold coins. This twenty dollar denomination, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, represents the final issue of the classic Liberty Head design that began its run in 1850. Composed of 0.900 fine gold, the coin contains 0.9675 troy ounces of precious metal and stands as a testament to nineteenth-century American coinage traditions. On the obverse, the profile of Lady Liberty is encircled by thirteen stars, representing the original colonies. The reverse features a heraldic eagle with its wings fully spread, bearing a shield. Above the eagle, rays of light and another cluster of thirteen stars illuminate the design. The reverse also bears the inscriptions denoting the nation of origin, United States of America, and the face value, written out as Twenty Dollars. This particular specimen has survived in remarkable condition, certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64).
