In 1907, the Denver Mint produced this impressive twenty-dollar gold piece, marking the final year of a classic American design series that originally began in 1850. Struck in 0.900 fine gold, the coin contains 0.9675 troy ounces of precious metal. This particular specimen has survived in remarkable condition, certified by professional graders as Mint State 63. The obverse of the coin features a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty, her hair secured with a coronet bearing her name. A ring of thirteen stars encircles her, representing the original colonies, with the date 1907 positioned at the bottom. This iconic image was created by James B. Longacre, who served as the Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. On the reverse, Longacre placed a heraldic eagle with wings spread wide, holding a shield across its chest. Above the eagle, thirteen stars form an oval pattern beneath a halo of rays. The national name, United States of America, is inscribed along the upper rim, while the denomination, Twenty Dollars, is spelled out along the bottom edge.
