1907 Indian Head Cent XF

0.0000 troy oz 1907 Extra Fine

The 1907 Indian Head Cent represents a classic era of United States coinage, struck in a durable alloy consisting of 95 percent copper alongside a 5 percent blend of tin and zinc. Designed by James B. Longacre, this penny features a distinct obverse depiction of Liberty wearing a traditional Native American feathered headdress, with the word LIBERTY inscribed upon the band. Surrounding this central figure is the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, alongside the 1907 year of issue. On the reverse, the coin displays its denomination of ONE CENT nestled inside a detailed wreath. This particular specimen survives in Extra Fine condition, meaning the fine details of the feathers, hair, and wreath leaves remain remarkably sharp and distinct to the naked eye. Produced at the Philadelphia Mint, this coin carries no mint mark, which was the standard practice for the facility during this period of American numismatic history.
