In 1909, the San Francisco Mint struck this magnificent twenty dollar gold coin, a piece that showcases one of the most celebrated designs in American numismatic history. Crafted from 0.900 fine gold and containing 0.9675 troy ounces of the precious metal, this double eagle represents a peak of artistic expression on circulating currency. The obverse of the coin presents a powerful depiction of Lady Liberty. She is shown in stride, holding a lit torch to illuminate her path and an olive branch as a symbol of peace. The reverse displays a majestic bald eagle captured in mid-flight, soaring across the design. This side also bears the essential inscriptions denoting the issuing authority as the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the face value of TWENTY DOLLARS. This specific coin has been graded in Mint State 62 (MS-62) condition.
