1910 $10 Indian Gold Eagle MS-63 PCGS

In 1910, the Philadelphia Mint produced a run of 318,500 gold eagle coins, each carrying a face value of ten dollars. Struck from 0.900 fine gold, this issue contains 0.4838 troy ounces of precious metal. It represents a fascinating era of American coinage, showcasing a departure from traditional classical imagery in favor of a distinctively American motif. The obverse of the coin features a left-facing portrait wearing a stylized Native American feathered headdress, surrounded by stars along the upper border. The reverse displays a proud standing eagle perched on an olive branch. The inscriptions on the coin include the national mottos "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST", alongside the denomination of "TEN DOLLARS". This particular specimen has survived the decades in remarkable condition, earning a certified grade of Mint State 63 (MS-63). Because it was struck at the main Philadelphia facility, it bears no mint mark, leaving the fields clean and highlighting the bold details of the early twentieth-century engraving.
