1910-S $10 Indian Gold Eagle AU-55 PCGS

0.4838 troy oz .900 1910 Almost Unc - 55 (PCGS)

In 1910, the San Francisco Mint produced a gold ten dollar piece that remains a striking example of American coinage. This coin, composed of 0.900 fine gold with a gold content of 0.4838 troy ounces, represents a classic era of United States currency. This specific piece has been certified in Almost Uncirculated 55 condition, preserving the intricate details of its historic design. The obverse of the coin presents a unique depiction of Lady Liberty, who wears an Native American war bonnet instead of her traditional crown. A band across her hair is inscribed with the word LIBERTY, and thirteen stars encircle her profile, with the minting year of 1910 anchored at the bottom. This bold imagery was created by the renowned sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, whose work redefined the aesthetic of American money from 1907 to 1933. On the reverse, a powerful bald eagle stands in profile. The inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination TEN DOLLARS frame the majestic bird. The traditional mottos E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST are also integrated into the design, completing a coin that is as rich in artistic detail as it is in precious metal.
