0.4838 troy oz .900 1910 Almost Unc

In 1910, the San Francisco mint produced a run of 811,000 ten-dollar gold coins, each containing 0.4838 troy ounces of gold. This issue, graded in Almost Uncirculated condition, represents a fascinating era in American coinage, displaying a bold departure from traditional depictions of Liberty. The obverse features Lady Liberty wearing an Native American war bonnet. Thirteen stars arch over her head, representing the original colonies, while her hair band is inscribed with the word "LIBERTY" above the 1910 date. This distinctive design was created by the renowned sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. On the reverse, a proud bald eagle stands as the central focus. The design is accompanied by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the denomination "TEN DOLLARS". The traditional mottos "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST" are also integrated into the reverse field. Coins struck at the San Francisco facility are distinguished by the "S" mint mark.
