The 1911 British Gold Sovereign is a striking artifact from the early twentieth century, struck in 0.9167 fine gold. This particular specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the sharp details and original luster of a coin minted more than a century ago at The Royal Mint. Containing 0.2354 troy ounces of gold, the coin represents a time-honored tradition of British sovereign coinage. On the obverse, the coin displays the left-facing portrait of King George V. The legend surrounding his bust includes the Latin inscription GEORGIVS V, marking the beginning of his reign. The reverse presents one of the most famous motifs in numismatic history: the dramatic depiction of Saint George on horseback, defeating a dragon.
