0.4838 troy oz .900 1913 Almost Unc

The 1913 ten dollar gold piece represents a fascinating era in American coinage, showcasing a departure from traditional classical imagery. Designed by the renowned sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the obverse of this coin presents Lady Liberty adorned in a traditional Native American war bonnet. Thirteen stars encircle this central figure, representing the original colonies, while the word LIBERTY is clearly visible on her hair band above the 1913 date. On the reverse, a proud bald eagle stands amidst the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the ten dollar denomination. Rather than a standard reeded edge, this coin features raised stars along its rim, with the total number of stars corresponding to the states in the Union at the time of its striking. Minted at the Philadelphia facility, this gold piece contains 0.4838 troy ounces of pure gold and is preserved in Almost Uncirculated condition.
