The 1913 five dollar gold piece stands out as a remarkable example of American coinage, showcasing a design concept where the details are sunken below the flat surface of the coin. This incuse method gives the coin a distinct texture and appearance. On the front, a male figure representing Liberty wears a traditional Native American war bonnet. This central portrait is bordered by thirteen stars, with the word Liberty inscribed upon the headband and the year 1913 positioned at the bottom. On the reverse, a majestic bald eagle stands proudly, surrounded by the country of origin, the traditional motto E Pluribus Unum, and the five dollar denomination.
