1913-S $20 St Gaudens Gold Double Eagle MS-62 PCGS

0.9675 troy oz .900 1913 PCGS

In 1913, the San Francisco mint produced a remarkably small run of the famous twenty-dollar gold pieces designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Out of the entire production of just 34,000 coins, only a fraction have survived to the present day, making each remaining specimen a compelling subject for study. This specific coin has been certified in Mint State 62 (MS-62) condition. Struck from 90 percent pure gold, it contains 0.9675 troy ounces of precious metal. The physical coin bears the distinct 'S' mint mark, indicating its origin at the West Coast minting facility during the final years of the pre-1933 gold era. The obverse and reverse designs represent a high point in American numismatic artistry. Despite the passage of more than a century, this well-preserved example allows observers to appreciate the intricate details and relief that define the Saint-Gaudens series.
