1914 Buffalo Nickel BU

0.0000 troy oz 1914 Brilliant Unc

The 1914 Buffalo Nickel stands as a classic representative of early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck in copper, this five-cent piece showcases a design created by James Earle Fraser. The coin captures a rugged, naturalistic aesthetic that departed significantly from the more traditional, European-style allegorical figures common on previous United States currency. On the obverse side, a detailed profile of a Native American faces right. The year 1914 is clearly visible in the lower left, with the letter F positioned just below it. The reverse features a powerful depiction of an American bison standing on a mound, facing left. Above the animal, the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM are displayed, while the denomination FIVE CENTS is boldly struck at the bottom. This particular specimen is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, meaning it retains its original luster and sharp details just as it appeared when leaving the Philadelphia Mint over a century ago.
