0.4838 troy oz .900 1914 Almost Unc

In 1914, the Denver facility of the United States Mint produced this ten-dollar gold piece, a stunning example of early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck in 0.900 fine gold with a precious metal weight of 0.4838 troy ounces, this coin belongs to a celebrated series minted from 1907 to 1933. This specific specimen has survived in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the bold details of its revolutionary design. The obverse presents a distinctive depiction of Lady Liberty adorned in a Native American war bonnet, a creative departure from traditional classical imagery. Thirteen stars encircle this central figure, representing the original colonies, while the word LIBERTY is clearly visible across her hair band. The year 1914 is positioned directly beneath the portrait. On the reverse, a proud bald eagle stands as the central focus. This side of the coin bears several traditional inscriptions, including UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the denomination TEN DOLLARS, and the classic mottos E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST. This masterpiece was envisioned and created by the legendary sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, whose work redefined the aesthetic of United States currency.
