In 1914, the Denver Mint struck this magnificent twenty-dollar gold piece, a coin that showcases one of the most celebrated designs in American numismatic history. Sculpted by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, this series was produced from 1907 to 1933, representing a golden age of national coinage. Each piece is composed of 0.900 fine gold, containing 0.9675 troy ounces of the precious metal. The obverse of the coin presents a powerful image of Lady Liberty walking forward, bathed in the rays of a rising sun. In her hands, she carries a torch to light the way and an olive branch representing peace. On the reverse, a majestic bald eagle is captured mid-flight, soaring across the sky above a brilliant sun.
