Struck in 1915 for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, this silver half dollar represents a significant milestone in United States coinage. It stands as the very first commemorative issue to display the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, integrating this classic inscription into a beautifully detailed design. The coin contains 0.3617 troy ounces of silver, with a composition of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper. The obverse, created by Charles Barber, presents a graceful scene where Columbia scatters blossoms from a cornucopia cradled by a young child, set against the backdrop of a rising sun. The mint mark S, indicating its origin at the San Francisco Mint, is positioned just to the left of the 1915 date. On the reverse, designed by George T. Morgan, an eagle stands with wings unfurled atop a Union shield, flanked by an oak branch on one side and an olive branch on the other. This specific specimen has been certified in Mint State 63 (MS-63) condition.
