This particular coin, graded in Fine condition, was struck at the Philadelphia Mint during the early twentieth century. It represents a transition in American numismatic art, moving toward highly detailed, realistic representations of native subjects. The word LIBERTY is inscribed along the upper right edge, while the year 1916 is clearly visible at the base of the portrait.
