The 1916 Denver Mint dime is one of the most famous and sought-after treasures in the entire history of United States coinage. With an incredibly low original mintage of just 264,000 pieces, very few of these ten-cent coins have survived to the present day, making any authentic representative a major discovery. This particular coin has been certified in Fair 2 condition. While it shows the heavy wear of a long journey through commerce, its identity remains clear. The coin is struck from 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. On the obverse, the design features the classic winged head of Liberty, which closely resembles the Roman god Mercury. The year 1916 is visible, along with portions of the traditional national mottoes. The reverse features the crucial 'D' mint mark, confirming its origin from the Denver facility and cementing its status as a legendary key date.
