0.0483 troy oz .900 1917 NGC

In 1917, the Philadelphia Mint produced a special commemorative gold coin honoring William McKinley. Struck in 90 percent pure gold, this coin contains approximately 0.0483 troy ounces of precious metal. Because it was minted at the Philadelphia facility, it does not carry a mint mark, distinguishing it from issues struck at other branch mints. This issue is particularly notable for its incredibly small mintage of only 5,000 pieces, making it a scarce survivor of early twentieth-century American commemorative coinage. The design pays tribute to McKinley, featuring his likeness and marking his memorial in Niles, Ohio, alongside the date of 1917.
