1918 Walking Liberty Half Dollar Good

0.3575 troy oz .900 1918 Good/Very Good

The 1918 half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage, struck in 90 percent silver with a precious metal weight of 0.3575 troy ounces. This Philadelphia-minted coin showcases one of the most celebrated artistic pairings in American numismatic history, conceived by the sculptor Adolph Weinman. On the obverse, Lady Liberty is depicted in mid-stride, moving gracefully toward a rising sun while cradling a bundle of branches in her arm. The year 1918 is inscribed at the bottom, accompanied by the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse displays a powerful eagle perched upon a mountain crag, wings partially spread as it prepares for flight. The inscriptions on this side include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination, HALF DOLLAR.
