The 1919 Buffalo Nickel stands as a classic representative of early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this five-cent piece carries no mint mark, a traditional feature of coins produced at the main facility during this era. Out of a total mintage of 60,868,000, this particular specimen has survived in an exceptional state of preservation, certified at a high-grade Mint State 64 (MS-64). The obverse of the coin displays a powerful, rugged profile of a Native American chieftain, facing right. The single word LIBERTY is inscribed along the upper right rim, with the year 1919 clearly visible at the lower left.
